Dreams, Dreams...
Mar. 19th, 2009 09:42 amMuch weirder than the one the night before last wherein Oil Slick kept jumping and swimming around in this murky lake in some city (first time he was running from a reporter; the second time, he was gonna ambush someone).

Metal Gear Solid 3
Mar. 3rd, 2009 11:21 pmWell, for the second time in less than a year, I replayed Metal Gear Solid 3, and just beat it again tonight.
I love that game (along with all the other MGS games), but the ending is just so sad. I think it's the only video game I've ever played that actually made me cry (although, if I had played FFVII back before Arieth's death scene was well-known, I'm sure it would have made me cry too). Now that's the sign of a great story, if it can make you feel in such a way. Metal Gear Solid proves that video games can have deep, meaningful stories and drama, and not just be another mindless form of entertainment (although games with simple stories, like Mario and such, are usually fun too, as long as the gameplay is fun and more than makes up for it). It'll probably be a long time before I'll be able to play that game again, just like the first time I beat the game.

Jan. 18th, 2009 03:52 pmDad, let's get on thing straight: I am 20 years old, so I can swear however much I fucking want to, you son-of-a-bitch!
I really fucking hate you, you fucking fucktard! You can't tell me what I can and cannot say and do, you fuckwad! For that matter, you can't make me not be angry! There's no magic remote that controls my emotions, so if you don't like me being mad, you just have to fucking deal with it, you fucking bastard.
You're king of the fucking bastards! And you can just go to hell, fucking fucker!

Well, after finishing MGS2, I've decided to return to a replay file of MGS3 that I started months ago while waiting for MGS2 to come in the mail.
When I left off on that game, before I switched to MGS2, I had crossed the lake of crocs and was about to risk mines and electric fences. Today, when I picked it back up, I got past the fences (thank god for the mine detector, even if it is more primitive than the ones in other MGS games, for obvious time-frame reasons), fought Ocelot, fought The Pain, made it to the warehouse, evaded traps, and got inside the lab Granin is being held at.
I also managed to find the snow and fly camos that I missed in the last playthrough of the game. Hopefully that Snow camo will come in handy when it's time to face The Boss. I also found the knock out hanky, which will come in handy when it's time to knock out Raikov and steal his clothes. I just wish I could find my way around the damn building Granin is in. That place is like a maze when you haven't played the game in forever. And I seem to be rusty with CQC when it comes to the headbash move. Hopefully that'll get better. Although I did an interrogation wrong and ended up killing the poor soldier. That will haunt me for a long time.
video game news
Oct. 23rd, 2008 04:35 pmI just wish I could afford a damn PS3 so I could play the fourth game. Watching it on YouTube just isn't the same as playing a game yourself and seeing the full extend of the graphics and gameplay. Maybe someday in the near future I'll be able to play it.
Also, my DDR game finally came in the mail today. Boy, does it take a lot out of you. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.
