Mass Effect

arwingyoshiSo, I beat Mass Effect today. I was freaking awesome!
The game is probabaly one of my new favorites. It had awesome gameplay, with plenty of action, planet-hopping, and dialog that I got to pick. Not to mention I have a thing for games with side-quests, and this game had plenty. Probably spent most of the game doing the side-quests before getting to a story-related mission. The ending was intense. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Story always gets bonus points with me when it comes to games, and this game was written very well. Had drama, some lighthearted moments, tragedy and romance. I ended up sacrificing Kaiden on Vermire, and chose Liara as the love interest. Wrex got spared though. I also went with the Paragon path and built up lots of charm points.
I also loved the characters. Probably my favorite would have to be Garrus. He's just so cool, and kind hot, for an alien. Saren was cool too. He made for an awesome villain. I ended up talking him into committing suicide and then fought him in Husk form after Sovereign took control of him.
Then we have something else that gets bonus points when it comes to me: the voice cast. Jennifer Hale did a good job as female Shepard, as she always does when it comes to voice work. The awesome Fred Tatasciore did a great job as Saren, and it showed he has great range. I didn't even realize that it was the same guy who did Loz. Marina Sirtis made for a good Benezia, I think, as did Seth Green with Joker. And of course, there was the awesome and sexy voice of Admiral Hackett, Lance Henriksen. Part of me kept picturing Lockdown saying his lines and giving the orders XD
Overall, it was a really fun game, and while I don't plan on picking it up right away (need some room to breathe after that climax), I definatly want to play it again some time. There's just so many things you can do different that replay value is very high. I highly reccommend it.
